There is a system in which foreigners can claim their pension as "Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment'' when they have left Japan.

●In case you do not request a lump-sum withdrawal payment:
Even if you live overseas, you can receive pension money after the age of 65.

●When requesting lump-sum withdrawal payment:
All records of payments made while in Japan will be lost, so you will not be able to receive pension money after turning 65.
It takes about 4 to 5 months from the time you apply until you receive the money.

However, those who receive a lump-sum withdrawal payment will lose all records of the pension they paid while in Japan.
You cannot receive Japanese pension money even after the age of 65, so think carefully before making a claim.

How to apply for lump-sum withdrawal payment
